Approximate position from published sources.
The Giannis D ran aground on the northwest corner of Abu Nuhas in April 1983 carrying sawn timber, then broke up over the following weeks. The stern section lies at about 45 degrees near 24 m, with the bridge, engine room and funnel open to careful exploration; the bow and a debris field sit closer to the reef. The angle of the decks makes interiors surprisingly disorienting.
