Approximate position from published sources.
The Carnatic struck Abu Nuhas reef on 12 September 1869 and broke apart two days later; 31 people died. She lies on her port side between roughly 17 and 28 m, with rows of beams you can swim between and a well-preserved stern and rudder. Dives from Hurghada and El Gouna often pair her with the Giannis D nearby.
